Aikengall IIa

Current Status

Aikengall IIa Community Wind Farm was given planning consent by the Scottish Government in October 2016.

Project Progress

Planning conditions for the wind farm are currently in the process of being prepared ready for discharge and a Section 36c application to increase the tip height of a single turbine (Turbine 16) has been lodged with the Energy Consesnts Unit. The increase in tip hieght of 20m will bring the turbine in line with the other turbines at Aikengall IIa. The planning documentation can be found below.

Project Information

The wind farm will have an installed capacity of over 50MW generating clean, green electricity.

Site Location

Aikengall IIa Community Wind Farm is located on the border of East Lothian and Scottish Borders, approximately 12.5 km south of Dunbar and 6 km south of Innerwick. The wind farm will form an extension of Community Windpower’s operational Aikengall and Aikengall II Community Wind Farms.
