Stylish Skiing by young star Deja Parker

Deja Parker

Deja Parker is an 11-year-old freestyle skier from Dalry, currently in P7 at St Palladius Primary School, who has no problem performing tricks and aerial moves on skis.

Deja has previously received a grant from the Dalry Parish Boundary Trust (DPBT), who distribute Community Windpower’s Dalry, Millour Hill and Extension community benefit funding.

This grant is for £500 to help with his training and travel costs as he attends his latest round of competitions.

Despite not being at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Deja has a bright future ahead in his discipline. He is already the Under 12’s Scottish Schools Champion and he is currently the British Indoor and Outdoor Champion for his age group.

Deja, who will turn 12 in May this year, will then be entering the Under 16’s competitions trying his expertise against older competitors.

Deja, who turned 12 in May, won the Snowsport Scotland Under 16s Freeski Boys triple crown.

Pete Boustead, Educational Ranger at Community Windpower and now a Trustee of the DPBT, said: “He is a fearless and amazing young talent!

“In terms of his ability, he is competing with people much older than himself and winning regularly.

“I am delighted we are supporting Deja and I wish him all the best when competing in the future, I hope we will be cheering him on at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.”
