Sanquhar Primary Wildlife Garden Project day is a success! - 9th May

In conjunction with Sanquhar Primary School’s commitment to Eco-Schools and extracurricular Gardening Club, Saturday 6th May was set as the day to get the whole community involved in revitalising the outdoor areas at the school.
Following Community Windpower’s commitment to Sanquhar Primary School’s Eco-Schools status through educational presentations; the company made a donation of litter grabbers, bin bag hoops, planters and funding of £200 towards essential gardening materials such as top soil, bulbs and seeds for the event.
Community Windpower’s Educational Ranger Pete Boustead attended the day and worked hard helping to create a path for the Wildlife Garden. The day was also well attended by staff, parents, children and Brighten Up Sanquhar Group who all went along to give a helping hand. All volunteers worked tirelessly to tidy up the borders, lay bark, plant bulbs and fill raised beds with soil. There was also special thanks to Burnside Tea Room who kept all the workers hydrated and fed with tea, coffee and sandwiches.
