Horsing around with Spott Community Association

Race Night

The annual Race Night at Spott Community Village Hall is a mainstay event in the Dunbar calendar, with locals from the surrounding communities taking part in a night of socialising and online horse racing to raise money for the Community Association.

With this particular event, the focus was on fundraising for the village hall. The £250 of funding, provided by Community Windpower, will also support the costs of community activities, and will bolster the Association’s winter resilience funds. Spott Community Association have been established for over 20 years, and their hard work will ensure the village hall remains a central asset to the local region.

Anouska Woods, Community Coordinator at BeGreen Dunbar, attended the event. Anouska said: “It was a very enjoyable evening in the village hall! Anyone would relish at the chance to socialise with neighbours and locals, and Race Night is no exception. CWL and BeGreen Dunbar are always delighted to provide funding for prominent community assets, and the charities that manage them, as they provide a space for joy and fun for so many people.”
