Exploring GIS in the work place with students at Chester University - 8th February

CWL staff have visited Chester University to provide a presentation on the use of GIS to third year Geography students.
Those students taking the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) module as part of their Geography degree were shown how Community Windpower utilise GIS on a daily basis as part of the wind farm development process. The presentation will help the class prepare for their projects which involve a site selection process and exercise to locate a potential solar farm.
We had a great morning discussing this topic with the students which saw them all get involved in the task to consider what makes a suitable wind farm site. We hope the presentation will prove useful as the students progress their studies.
