The Dalry Parish Boundary Trust have allocated £5,940, through Community Windpower’s community benefit funding, to Dalry Primary School.

The grant is being used to fund four sets of beginner skiing lessons, at the Snow Factor in Glasgow, for the schools P7 pupils. Two P7 classes are attending these lessons, the first group completing them before Easter and the second group will complete theirs after the Easter holidays.

The first lesson took place on March 9th and will continue every Thursday for the next three weeks. The lessons are in partnership with the Garnock Ski Trip, who provided spare ski equipment for pupils who did not have any.

A spokesperson at Dalry Primary School said “This is an amazing opportunity for the P7’s at Dalry Primary School.

“The P7 pupils were super excited to start their lessons and had a great time out on the Snow Factor slope this week.

“We cannot thank the Dalry Parish Boundary Trust and Community Windpower enough for their kind generosity for fully funding these lessons.

“Please keep an eye on our Twitter page, @DalryPrimary, as we promise to share lots of photos of the pupils and falls from the staff”.
