CWL delighted to invite pupil from Wallacehall Academy on wind farm site visit - 21st December
After our Careers Presentation at Wallacehall Academy back in September, CWL followed up the school's interest and organised a site visit for an aspiring pupil, who is considering entering the renewables industry in an engineering or technician role. On Wednesday, our Operations Director showed the pupil around our Dalry and Millour Hill Community Wind Farms in North Ayrshire to greater understand Community Windpower, the onshore wind industry, and the workings of a wind farm.
The two wind farms which were visited offer a unique perspective to compare and contrast the different turbine types: Vestas V90 turbines at Dalry Community Wind Farm, and Siemens Direct Drive turbines at Millour Hill Community Wind Farm. CWL hope that the visit will help the pupil move forward within the industry and we look forward to hearing back from them about their progress.
CWL are delighted to have been able to continue our relationship with Wallacehall Academy following on from our introduction by Developing the Young Workforce Dumfries and Galloway, and look forward to continuing this in the new year following on from the commissioning of our Sanquhar Community Wind Farm.
