Community Windpower provides £1,400 for Belhaven Surf Centre's solar panels
In a bid to help Dunbar reach its Net Zero goals, and to reap the rewards of green electricity, Belhaven Surf Centre approached BeGreen to secure a funding contribution towards the installation of solar panels on their south facing roof.
Community Windpower, through BeGreen Dunbar, are delighted to provide £1,400 in community benefits funding for this incredible project. Community Windpower have a strong relationship with Belhaven Surf Centre, and over the years we have supported many projects at the Surf Centre, including the installation of an additional water tank to provide hygiene facilities for their increased membership, the purchasing of first aid supplies and kit cleaners, and a £10,000 grant to help with their community building.
Run by volunteers, Belhaven Surf Centre is open to all and plays host to a number of organisations, such as those which improve access to watersports, those improving safety education, and groups focused on environmental awareness.
Sam Christopherson, Director of Belhaven Surf Centre, said: “We are so grateful for BeGreen’s support with solar panels for the surf centre. Not only does this help the Belhaven Surf Centre move forward to a greener future, but it will also help combat the significant rise in electricity costs for the community building and the wide variety of clubs and organisations that use it.”
