Community Windpower are Developing the Engineers of tomorrow!
Community Windpower Ltd (CWL) are delighted to continue their Working Partnership with West College Scotland by supporting their education and training courses for students within the engineering and renewable energy industry.
Over the past 7 years, CWL have developed a successful working partnership with West College Scotland to further support students pursuing an education in engineering and renewable energy through the provision of 2-week work placements for 2 students.
This week we welcomed Erin McLean and Jack Hetterly who will be joining the Project Development, Technical and Operation teams during their placement programme at CWL’s Head Office.
Jack is currently studying for a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical Engineering, while Erin is studying for her HNC in Engineering Systems. Both courses have an element of renewable energy technologies and both Jack and Erin have raised a keen interest to work in the renewable energy industry in the future.
As part of their HNC in Engineering, Jack and Erin will spend their time gaining industry experience; hands-on experience of using industry standard platforms such as SCADA, GIS, AutoCAD; and applying their engineering knowledge directly in the workplace.
CWL are incredibly proud to support growth in Scotland through employment, investment and education as part of our ongoing ‘Buy Scottish’ initiative. We look forward to continuing our partnership with West College Scotland, as well as other colleges and educational institutions that we have a working partnership with across Scotland.
