Celebrating graduations at West College Scotland

WSC Sign

West College Scotland is a higher-learning institution which is comprised of three campuses: Clydebank, Greenock, and Paisley. They offer a huge range of qualifications in a multitude of disciplines, including a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering Systems which Community Windpower have provided placements for for many years.

The engineering course – taught full-time at the Greenock campus – lets students learn project management skills, mathematics, business awareness, and system modelling. Following completion of the course, students will have gained the necessary knowledge to secure an entry-level technical role in renewable energy, transport or manufacturing industries.

Community Windpower have offered placements to high performing students which are undertaken at our Head Office in Frodsham, Cheshire. Placement students enjoy a range of tasks within the CWL office environment; whilst spending time on both the Projects team and the Operations team, the students also take part in a visit to one of our community wind farms in Scotland.

Community Windpower are in-kind sponsors for this year’s graduation at Greenock Townhall in September. For years we have delighted in this close partnership with West College Scotland, and we wish the Class of 2022 a very happy graduation.

Dr Lee Coutts, Assistant Principal Technology & Skills, at West College Scotland, said: “The College are grateful to the on-going support provided by Community Windpower.  Students have benefitted from a rich range of learning experiences, including placements in Cheshire.

“We look forward to working with them over the coming academic session and strengthening our relationship.”

Gillian Cropper, Projects Director at Community Windpower, said “We are pleased to see the return of in person graduation ceremonies and we wish all the class of 2022 the best with their future endeavors.

“We are delighted to be in-kind sponsors this year and we hope our relationship with the West Scotland College continues for many years to come”.
