Celebrating 40 years of the Dunbar Flower Show with Community Windpower
Since 1983, the Dunbar Flower Show has been a mainstay of the Dunbar calendar, apart from the two years which experienced Covid-19 cancellations. Held in Dunbar Parish Church Hall, the Flower Show features flowers and vegetable exhibit entries, alongside local crafts and bakers.
Community Windpower were delighted to sponsor this event, especially following two years of sad cancellations. Those with the greenest of thumbs and the brightest bunches of flowers were presented with a prize in various categories, and there was also a children’s section to keep them entertained and occupied throughout the afternoon.
Anouska Woods, BeGreen Community Coordinator, said: “What can I say! What a day the flower show was. As soon as you walked through the door you were met with an array of colour and beautiful smells, not only from the flowers but the wonderful home baking. I love going to the Dunbar Flower Show, it has such a lovely local, community feel. So many classes to enter. From cross stitch, baking and floral displays to children’s vegetable art and quilting, something for everyone! I’m so pleased that we have been able to support the show again this year. Especially in its 40th year. A massive well done to Gordon & Elizabeth Mitchell and all the volunteers who work so hard to make the show happen. Here’s to next year!”
