Scottish wind farms doubled their output in June - 6th July 2015

Last month wind turbines in Scotland provided enough electricity to supply 1.7 million homes according to WWF Scotland. The organisation also said that wind power generated the equivalent of 33 per cent of Scotland’s entire electricity needs for the month.

The director of WWF Lang Banks said: “These figures show just how much wind power has gone from strength to strength. However, wind power in Scotland could and should be playing an even bigger role in helping to reduce climate emissions from the power sector.”
