Perfect Day for a Relaunch Party!! - 17th November
A lovely autumn day saw the relaunch of the BeGreen Energy Advice Centre in Dunbar. BeGreen moved premises in August but we wanted to mark the special occasion, so we thought why not throw a party! A Tea & Cupcake Party! We wanted to welcome everyone in the community into our new home. Not only were there lots of cakes and tea enjoyed by everyone but it was a great opportunity to let people know what we do and how we can help.
BeGreen was previously in the Westport area of the town for 8 years but we fancied a change so when No. 55 High Street came up we thought why not? A great location but more importantly a great space where we can have open days, surgeries and offer community groups our spacious meeting room. A real community hub open to everyone.
The day was buzzing with excitement with people attending that had previous help through grants, to specialists that were on hand to answer any questions. Whether that was energy grants, community funding or general advice. It was great to see everyone mingling and sharing stories
We also had a special addition to the day with a live show being delivered from East Coast FM right here in our front office. Ian and his team put on a fabulous show and carried out interviews with our very own Gillian Cropper, Rob Friar and Anouska Woods. The drive time show between 3-6pm was led by Liz and was great fun. We hope we can do it again soon. Thank you so much for being part of our special day!
The Dunbar Colts 2004s team, which Community Windpower are patrons of made an appearance with their coaches. The boys were great fun and CW were very proud to see them in their CW strips. Quite a few cakes and sweeties were eaten before they dashed off to their Tuesday night training, the cakes will have helped running around the pitch that night!
All in all the day was a great success and the feedback has been so positive. The energy centre is even busier and it’s so good to know that we are helping people out. If you have any questions or are needing any advice from grants to fuel bills pop in for a chat.
The BeGreen Energy Advice Centre is open 9am-3pm, Monday-Friday.
