South Korean company, CS wind is set to build its new European HQ in the Humber, creating 200 jobs in the process. The announcement was made on Friday after the company won a government grant worth £1m.

CS is likely to be one of the key suppliers to Seimens who are expected to move into the new turbine assembly complex in Hull.

UK managing director Youngjae, also known as David, Ryu said: "We are delighted to be able to announce our intention to make this investment in the UK today.

"This grant will enable us to accelerate our investment plans and provide confidence to the industry that we want to deliver a long-term cost-competitive tower to serve the European offshore wind market."

Although the final decision on where the site will be built has not been made, Hull City Council leader said “If they make the decision to come here it will be another exciting opportunity for jobs growth in the city."
