BeGreen energy advice shops have been set up to help local communities to become Carbon Neutral. To do this the shops aim to reduce domestic energy-based fuel emissions whilst attempting to eradicate fuel poverty.
The BeGreen Shops will achieve these aims by:
- Offering advice on energy efficiency; how to reduce energy usage and improve wasteful energy consumption habits. We can provide free low energy lightbulbs.
- Reducing fuel consumption and bills by helping poorly insulated homes to search for available grants and get access to free or discounted cavity wall and loft insulation. Top-up funding will be available in some cases.
- Provide advice on alternative energy, discuss the options available, get people in touch with approved installers and apply for grants. Further top up funding will be available from BeGreen to make alternative energy financially more available.
- Provide a carbon calculator service to record progress made in cutting personal carbon emissions.
- Work with our partner groups to deliver a low-carbon-living message; being a presence in the community by visiting schools and community groups and making the most up-to-date information on energy matters readily available.
